The 23-year-old tripped over her strapless orange gown as she climbed out of her limousine,but was helped to her feet by her boyfriend Nicholas Hoult outside the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday.
And perhaps Jennifer Lawrence - who is nominated in the Best Supporting Actress category for American Hustle - sees falling as a lucky charm.
Actress wore red Dior dress to 86th Academy Awards - and took a tumble for the second year running.
The Oscar winner brought her trademark humour and poise to the incident, laughing hysterically as she stood up and kept walking.
The moment harkened back to her trip up the stairs at last year's ceremony.
The actress later commented on the fall in a red carpet interview, explaining: "The cone hit me, I've cut my shin, how is my dress not dirty."
Oscars host Ellen Degeneres later poked fun at Lawrence over the incident in her opening speech, joking: “If you win tonight, I think we should bring you the Oscar,” she said, to loud laughter. “We can do that, right?”
